Tips For Getting To Know Yourself Better

Here are some tools to use on a daily basis to keep getting to know yourselfamidst (and sometimes because of) certain challenges:

• Do one small thing to make today better than yesterday. 

Allow yourself to settle into the idea of small little shifts that add up to a more peaceful, centred you. Isn't it interesting how one little change can have such a drastic impact on our mood etc? You reclaim a piece of your day, even if it’s just a small one. 

• Begin to embrace your own brand of happy. 

Be open to the hobbies, places, and people who make you feel enthusiastic about your future, regardless of what others may think about them. You were given specific skills in order to shine. Cultivate them in small and big ways.

• You’re holding the remote

go ahead and press the pause button when needed. A saying of mine is “if I go within, I never go without”. Have some regular reflection, contemplation time – become interested in what you think or want to say. Spend time with the greenness of the plants on your balcony, look out of the window and notice something different, meditate, walk, stretch, dance etc. Become mindful of how you want to live your life. 

• Be aware of choices

 Look for opportunities in every situation. Instead of expanding the problems, identify the lessons, and what I could do differently. Look at how I can open up my world to new possibilities.
